2016-2017 Teacher of the Month

2016-2017

	May 2017:  Congratulations to the West Orange -Stark High School's May Teacher of the Month: Kimberly Summers! She is an outstanding English teacher. For example, students in her class were required to read about the Holocaust. Ms. Summers pursued an Education Grant through the WOCCISD Education Foundation in order to provide her students more opportunity to learn about this tragedy in history. Through her efforts, her students were able to visit the Holocaust Museum in Houston and extend their understanding of this event. Thank you, Ms. Summers for all that you do.   She is pictured at the WOCCISD School Board Meeting with WOS Principal Rod Anderson, her children, and WOCCISD Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	April 2017:  North Early Learning Center Teacher Veronica Block was recognized as the North Early Learning Center Teacher of the Month. She is an exceptional teacher that strives for excellence. She is very nurturing and works tirelessly to ensure students are engaged and mastering skills. Mrs. Block's energy and enthusiasm is contagious and evident in her classroom. She is also a Professional Learning Community leader and mentor to other teachers.   She is pictured with Campus Principal Sherry Hardin and WOCCISD Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	March 2017:  Beth Brown was recognized as the West Orange - Stark Elementary School Teacher of the Month. She is a choir teacher who enriches the lives of our children through music. She puts on programs that are a delight and brings pride to children and their parents. This year, she  even started a group of 5th grade "trash can" drummers who are perfecting routines involving intricate moves and music. She truly is a very special educator. She received her recognition in front the WOCCISD Board of Trustees.   She is pictured with Principal Glenetta Henley and Superintendent Rickie Harris.
Photo Not Available	February 2017:  Kathleen Rogers was also recognized as West Orange - Cove's WOS Middle School Teacher of the Month. Principal Dr. Anthony Moten said, "She takes great pride in the accomplishments of her students, and fights tirelessly on their behalf. Ms. Rogers and her team has done a outstanding job of developing instructional and support programs. She is a champion for her students!" Congratulations, Ms. Rogers!
	February 2017:  Congratulations to Donna Enard. She was recognized as West Orange - Cove's Academic Alternative Center's Teacher of Month. She was recognized by Campus Coordinator Beverly Robinson at the Board of Trustee meeting held this week. Mrs. Enard has been an educator for 30 years. She is fair, firm and consistent. She is also very efficient in her job responsibilities at the AAC. "Anything she is asked to do, she does it well," said Ms. Robinson.   She is pictured with Ms. Robinson and Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	January 2017:  Congratulations to Angela Taggart! She is the North Early Learning Center Teacher of the Month and was presented with this recognition at this week's meeting of the WOCCISD Board of Trustees. Ms. Taggart is a dedicated veteran teacher and a campus leader. She has a passion for teaching and excellence; and, she is committed to her students. Her students are consistently engaged and learning at high levels.     She is pictured with Principal Sherry Hardin and Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	November 2016:  Congratulations to Lou Ann Benson! She is the West Orange - Stark Elementary School Teacher of the Month and was presented with this recognition at this week's meeting of the WOCCISD Board of Trustees. Ms. Benson is the Campus Instructional Leadership Team leader for Kindergarten and a mentor to young teachers. Her boundless enthusiasm and love for children will make anyone want to stay in her classroom when visiting the campus. She is the kind of teacher every parent wants their child to have.   She is pictured with Assistant Principal Karl Whitley and Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	October 2016: Jessica Tant is the West Orange - Stark Middle School Teacher of the Month. Congratulations!!! This is her third year to serve on the campus where she has quickly taken on the role of campus leader and mentor. Additionally, she serves as the Middle School campus webmaster, as a District Key Communicator,  and supports Middle School staff in the area of instructional technology.   Ms. Tant is pictured with WOS Middle School Principal Dr. Anthony Moten WOCCISD Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	September 2016: Congratulations to West Orange - Stark High School math teacher Christopher Sams. He is an outstanding teacher who generally loves teaching. The students like him and he relates to them in a a way they appreciate. Additionally, he is innovative and willing to help out in all areas.    Mr. Sams is pictured with WOCCISD Superintendent Rickie Harris and WOS High School Principal Rod Anderson.
