2017-2018 Teacher of the Month

Each month, West Orange - Cove CISD is pleased to recognize a Teacher of the Month. Teachers are selected by their respective campus and presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in front of the WOCCISD Board of Trustees. Recognitions are made by the individual campus principal and Superintendent Rickie Harris.

No Picture Available	April 2018: Michael Washburn in the West Orange-Stark High School Teacher of the Month. He is an experienced teacher who does an excellent job of teaching upper-level science (physics) and coaching boys and girls tennis at West Orange-Stark High School. Students enjoy his classes.
	March 2018: North Early Learning Center's Dean of Education Ola Conner was also recently recognized as one of two WOCCISD Employees of the Month in March. Mrs. Conner is well known for her patience, kindness, sincerity, and willingness to help others. She goes above and beyond to make sure our students and staff are successful. Being a product of Head Start herself, she contributes some of her own success to the program. Because of this, she takes great pride in being a part of our campus. As an educational coordinator, Mrs. Conner makes every effort to ensure our students have the same or greater opportunities as she has by ensuring everyone has what they need and more. She is a very important part of our school. She takes the time to build relationships with students, staff, and parents. Mrs. Conner greets our students by name every morning and leads several parent committees. Mrs. Conner is dedicated and committed to the success of all North Early Learning Center students, staff, parents, and to the overall well-being of the program and campus. Thank you for all that you do!
	February 2018: Congratulations to Ms. Lashonda Birdon-Culpepper, our most recent Teacher of the Month! Ms. Culpepper is a passionate and energetic WOS Middle School seventh grade writing teacher. She cares deeply for our students and goes over and beyond so that they can experience success and become lifelong writers. She shares her life’s experiences to model good writing which also engages her students in the process. In addition to teaching, she is a UIL coach and cheer sponsor. Mrs. Culpepper is a great asset to the WOSMS family. She is pictured with Principal Sherry Hardin and Superintendent Rickie Harris.
	January 2018:  Angela Taggart is the North Early Learning Center Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Taggart is an excellent educator. She goes above and beyond, is always willing to lend a helping hand, is very knowledgeable, and a  team player. She is also extremely kind and patient. Congratulations on this honor!   She is pictured with Vickie Price, principal.
	November 2017:  Congratulations to West Orange - Stark Elementary K-5 Reading and Math Interventionist Athena Jefferson! She is the District's November Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Jefferson is friendly, caring, helpful, and hard-working and has a passion for helping others.    She is pictured with Dr. Troy Bethley, principal.
