REMINDER: Summer is right around the corner, and that means it's time for the West Orange-Cove CISD summer feeding program! This program provides free, nutritious meals for students during the summer so they can stay healthy and active. 🍎🥪🥦
All students under the age of 18 are welcome; they do not need to be enrolled at West Orange-Cove CISD to participate. Meals will be provided at the campuses below for the given dates, Monday through Thursday, with breakfast served from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and lunch served from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The Read & Roll Bus will also be around June 1st - 30th at the following locations from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Congratulations to West Orange-Stark Elementary second grader, Dylan Velazco, from Mrs. Perez-Trotter's class, who earned the most AR points (199!) out of anyone in the entire school! He earned a trophy and signed a ceiling tile to commemorate his accomplishment. Way to go, Dylan!

Mustangs, please note that the last day of school, May 21, is a FULL day, NOT a half day. This change was made in March to ensure the District met the minimum operational minutes required by the TEA.

Starting Friday, May 22, Dan R. Hooks Stadium and field will be closed for repairs until further notice. The community will be notified once the stadium is open to the public again.

Reading is its own reward, but the Mustangs at West Orange-Stark Elementary earned a little something extra for their effort. 📚

175 students from 1st through 5th grades who met their AR goals earned a field trip to Cinemark in Beaumont to watch The Sheep Detectives, a movie based on the 2005 best-selling novel, Three Bags Full. 🐑🐑🐑

They also enjoyed a fun movie snack pack with popcorn, a drink, and fruit snacks!

Way to go, Mustangs! Keep on reading!

It's the showdown you've been waiting for: the 4th Annual Students vs. Staff Kickball game at West Orange-Stark Elementary! Teachers and staff took on the winners of the 5th-grade kickball tournament, while students who achieved their 3 A's got to cheer on their classmates from the bleachers!

The students played hard, but this year the teachers came out on top with a dominating performance! It was a fun time for everyone, and a great reward for students who maintained their academics, attitude, and attendance!

West Orange-Stark Elementary students had a fantastic time exploring nature this week with field trips out to Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. 🍃

Guides walked students through the gardens, teaching all about the different flora and fauna along the way. They spotted various birds, snakes, bugs, turtles, and even a couple of alligators! An excellent, hands-on way to learn about the natural world right in our backyard! Thank you Shangri La for providing this amazing learning experience!

These Little Mustangs are moving on up to kindergarten, so they took a trip to West Orange-Stark Elementary to check out their new campus!

WOSE Student Council members guided the visitors through the halls, giving them a glimpse of what their next year will look like. They even stopped by the kindergarten classrooms for some shared learning experiences.
