This unique conference allows trustees, superintendents, education leaders, and students from across Texas to participate in an immersive learning experience through student-led sessions and demonstrations! This valuable information, provided through the lens of other Texas students, will help empower our Mustangs to become future leaders and innovators!

Attention Mustangs! There has been an important revision made to the 2025-2026 calendar. The last day of school, May 21, will now be a full day instead of a half day. This change was made to ensure the District met the minimum operational minutes required by the TEA.

This morning, Mustangs raised the roof at the West Orange-Stark Elementary Black History Month program! Students read speeches, and the elementary choir brought the energy with several powerful songs. Special guests and West Orange-Stark alumni, local entrepreneur and mentor Michael Doc Booker, and 12NewsNow evening anchor Claydra Rhodes, inspired students to dream big and find success through hard work and dedication in school!

Success in the classroom starts on Capitol Hill! Board Trustee Linda Platt-Bryant travelled to Washington, D.C. to attend the Texas Federal Advocacy Conference. Bryant and other School Board Trustees from all over the Lone Star State met with Senators and State Reps to build support for Texas Public Education!

National School Counseling Week is celebrated the first week of February, highlighting the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve success. The theme this year is 'Student Counselors Amplify Student Success."

This week, we're recognizing the amazing work of our incredible school counselors here at West Orange-Cove CISD. They work every day to make sure that students are provided the resources they need to succeed. They are a compassionate ally, helping students overcome the academic and emotional challenges they face both in and out of the classroom.
