The WOSE gym was pinked out this morning for the Pink Out Pep Rally Parade. The M3 Band took center stage with the support of WOSHS cheer, the Fillies, Prancing Divine, Fabulous Flags, and the Varsity Football Team! Along with the celebration and fun, students and staff took time to recognize and honor all those impacted by breast cancer.

May we continue to spread awareness, encourage early detection, support research, and remind everyone affected by breast cancer that they are not alone. 🩷

Thanks to the staff at Shangri La for providing our students with this excellent educational experience outside of the classroom.

P.S. Don't forget to vote for the WOSE 4th Grade's scarecrow!

A lot is happening in WOCCISD Child Nutrition this October!

October 1 kicks off the Farm Fresh Challenge! Through this challenge, we highlight Texas-grown and locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats, and grains served in our school meals. Last year, the WOCCISD Child Nutrition Department was proud to receive the 2025–2026 Best of the Bunch Award from the Texas Department of Agriculture. 🍎

We are also excited that the Texas Department of Agriculture has once again selected West Orange-Stark Elementary to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Our WOSE Child Nutrition team has previously earned TDA's Pear-Fection Award, and we are excited to continue building on that success as we work toward another recognition this school year! 🍐

To make October even more exciting, the WOCCISD Child Nutrition Department will celebrate National School Lunch Week, October 12–16, 2026. This year's celebration will feature a fun circus theme, with special healthy circus-inspired menus, student and staff activities, giveaways, and maybe even a surprise guest or two! 🎪

October will be a fun and exciting month in Child Nutrition, and we look forward to celebrating with our students and staff!
