All clear! The temporary lockdown at WOSHS has been lifted.

Attention Mustangs! Due to a bomb threat at the nearby Golden Triangle Polymers facility, WOSHS is under temporary lockdown. All students are safe and accounted for on campus.

The #LittleMustangs of NELC had two days of father figure fun for the All-Star Connections event!

It was all smiles as dads and students enjoyed playing catch, practicing pitching, and knocking it out of the park with tee ball. A great opportunity to bond and spend some quality time, all while staying active.

The UIL District 18-4A Varsity Golf Tournament, hosted by West Orange-Stark at Bayou Din Golf Course, came to a close today with some exciting Mustang news!

Sophia Ibarra and William Pugh represented WOS in these two days of intense golf competition. Sophia topped the ladies' leaderboard on both days, walking away with a top score of 170- earning the Girls Medalist plaque and the district title.

From the opening tee shot to the final putt on hole 36, Sophia showcased a complete competitive profile—focused, intentional, resilient, and unwaveringly structured. Tested at every turn, she met the moment with composure and confidence, navigating the course with precision and purpose. Her mastery was on full display throughout the tournament, a reflection of her tireless dedication and commitment to her craft.

One of the defining highlights of her championship run came on the par-4 third hole, where Sophia delivered a spectacular eagle hole-out—an electrifying moment that underscored both her skill and her ability to rise above the field when it mattered most.

With this victory, Sophia advances to represent West Orange-Stark High School at the Regional Tournament, scheduled for April 15–16, 2026, at Bearkat Golf Course in Huntsville, Texas.

Sophia’s performance not only secured a district title but set the tone for what promises to be an exciting postseason. We look forward to watching her continue to compete at the highest level.

In celebration of Women's History Month, students from WOSHS attended the Women in the Industry Luncheon in Port Arthur. This annual event provides female students in Southeast Texas with the opportunity to network with one another and with women professionals in the area. Our Lady Mustangs participated in mock interviews, received valuable tips about presenting themselves on the job, and received professional headshots!

At this evening’s regular Board Meeting, the Stallions showed us why BEST is the standard at West Orange-Stark Middle School! This evening’s meeting started with an invocation led by Chealsy Mulhollan, followed by the pledges led by Genesis Maldonaldo. Coach Demetrius “DeMo” Moffett was selected as Teacher of the Month, Brandon Morgan as Employee of the Month, and Austin Perdue as the Student of the Month! The board also recognized the WOSHS Theater class for their outstanding performance at this year’s UIL One-Act Play!

Mustangs at West Orange-Stark Middle School also got a chance to celebrate their excellence last week for their performance on the mock STAAR test.

Students who earned 'Meets Grade Level' performance got to take one school period to have some fun in the gym. They played basketball, volleyball, and video games as a reward for their hard work.

Excellence is celebrated at West Orange-Stark Elementary. 💯

Last Friday, students who earned 'Approaches Grade Level' on the mock STAAR testing got the chance to bust a move at a celebration dance party! Students enjoyed some free play, dancing, and socializing as a result of their hard work. Principal Oceguera even joined in on the line dancing to show these Mustangs how it's done.💃🏻

Those students who earned a 'Meets' or 'Masters' performance also received a sweet ice cream treat. Great job, Mustangs!

Our welding students at WOSHS are #careerready! Recently, 51 students earned their AWS D9.1 industry-based certifications! Representatives from Miller Electric were impressed with the quality of our students' work and offered IBC testing free of charge. The highest-scoring students were also rewarded with new, stylish welding shields!
