Career and Technical Education Methods of Administration

West Orange Cove-CISD offers career and technical education programs in Audio/Visual, Health Science, Manufacturing, Distribution and Logistics, Education and Training, Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security, Human Services and Architecture and Construction. Admission to these programs is based on enrollment at West Orange-Stark High School, unless it is a dual credit offering, then attendance and behavior referrals are part of a holistic decision making process.

It is the policy of West Orange Cove-CISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its vocational programs, services or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

Pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, West Orange Cove CISD has a duty to identify, refer, evaluate and if eligible, provide a free, appropriate public education to disabled students.  For additional information about the rights of parents of eligible children, or for answers to any questions you might have about identification, evaluation and placement into Section 504 programs, please contact the District’s Student Services Director, Dr. Alicia Sigee at (409) 882-5407 or by email at asigee@woccisd.net.

Website Notice Regarding the Refusal of Entry to or Ejection of an Individual from District Property

The District has the right to refuse entry to or eject a person from property under the District’s control if the person refuses to leave peaceably upon request and:

  1. The individual poses a substantial risk of harm to any person; or
  2. The individual continues to behave in a manner inappropriate for the school setting after having received a verbal or written warning to cease the inappropriate behavior.

A person ejected from or refused entry to District property under this provision may appeal this action by filing an appeal under FNG(LOCAL) or GF(LOCAL). [See the links listed below.]

Tobacco Use

West Orange - Cove Policy FNCD (Legal) prohibits tobacco use by students and others on school campuses or at school-sponsored or school-related activities. The Student Code of Conduct (posted on individual campus pages) provides campus enforcement mechanisms.

Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records

Attention:  Parents/Guardians, Former Students, Eligible (Adult) Students:
This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of West Orange-Cove School District’s intent to destroy the Special Education records of students who were no longer receiving Special Education services as of the end of the 2012-13 school year.  Records not requested by December 1, 2018 will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise.  After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc.
