WOCCISD Participates in the Farm Fresh Challenge!

The West Orange-Cove CISD Child Nutrition Department is excited to participate in the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Farm Fresh Challenge!

Throughout October, our students will have the opportunity to explore and taste a variety of Texas-grown foods while learning about where their food comes from and the importance of making healthy choices.

We’re bringing some amazing treats straight to our cafeteria tables! Students will enjoy delicious Texas-grown foods like watermelon, cantaloupe, apples, oranges, broccoli, lettuce, and pears.

These are just a few of the farm-fresh favorites featured on our menus this month. Through this challenge, we’re helping students discover new flavors, support local farmers, enjoy nutritious meals made with pride from the Lone Star State, and show that eating fresh and local is both fun and delicious!
