2021/22 COVID Guidelines

WOCCISD COVID-19 2021-2022 Guidelines The following guidelines are based on guidance from the Orange County Health Department, TEA Public Health Guidance, and coordination with other districts.

❖ Health Screenings

▪ Daily health screening forms will not be required for students, staff, or visitors.
▪ Daily temperature checks will continue for anyone entering our facilities.
▪ The COVID Compliance Monitor (CCM) will continue to conduct weekly campus compliance visits.
▪ Monthly healthy practice reminders will be posted via the district’s website and Facebook page.

❖ EXPOSED Staff
▪ Contact the CCM if you have been exposed to a test-confirmed positive case.
▪ Self-monitor for symptoms.
▪ Contact the CCM if you are notified by the health department as a close contact. For staff who meet the close contact threshold with a COVID-19 positive individual, and continue to work on campus, rapid testing must be performed at the start of the day, at least once every other day until the end of day 10.
▪ Quarantine may not be necessary. If you choose to quarantine, you must use your personal leave days. A doctor’s excuse will be required for absences longer than 5 days.
▪ Practice social distancing of at least 6 feet.

❖ EXPOSED Students
▪ Notify the campus nurse/principal (who will notify CCM).
▪ Quarantine may not be necessary. If you choose to quarantine, you must provide a note stating a return date. Per policy, a doctor’s excuse will be required for absences longer than five days. Please note that excused absences will also count against the 90% attendance requirement for credits.

❖ POSITIVE Staff /Students
▪ Notify the campus nurse/principal (who will notify CCM).
▪ Quarantine for 10 days or until you are released by the health department.
▪ The CCM will conduct informal contact tracing. However, official contact tracing will be conducted by the health department.
▪ The health department will determine and notify close contacts.
▪ The CCM and campus nurses will chart cases.
▪ The Director of Communications will notify parents and campus staff of a positive case via the call-out system.

❖ SUSPECTED Staff/Students (COVID-19 symptoms)
▪ Without testing, a minimum of 10 days since symptoms first appeared, fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, and symptoms of COVID-19 are improving, or
▪ With a negative test result, a minimum of 7 days. The COVID-19 test must be taken no earlier than 5 days after the presentation of symptoms.

Out of an abundance of caution, WOCCISD will implement the use of masks/face coverings for students in grades 2-12 and all staff effective Monday, August 23, 2021. They will be required on all campuses, facilities, and buses during the school day.
