From Superintendent, Dr. Rickie R. Harris Regarding Learning Platforms

Dear Mustangs,
Out of consideration for students affected by hurricane Laura, the district granted an opportunity to change learning platforms to accommodate current living situations. However, the opportunity to move students from either virtual or in-person learning has now closed. You must wait until the next marking period to change platforms. Any students who change platforms without administrative permission will not be approved. Unfortunately, the district cannot properly plan educational resources and staffing when students are continually switching platforms. The next date that students may change platforms is on October 5; parents must notify the campus before this date so adjustments can be made.
Additionally, it is imperative that virtual students participate in the virtual learning process. Virtual learners who fail to engage in the learning platform daily are considered absent, and failure to meet the state attendance standards will result in truancy. Regretfully, the district is in the process of filing truancy on students who have already failed to meet these standards. Thank you for your assistance as we strive to educate our students in these unprecedented times.
