Things to consider for enrollment

Parents:
It is critical to the district's accountability and funding that you complete the free and reduced lunch form along with your online registration. This also applies to students who will begin the school year using our virtual learning platform. It is imperative that our economically disadvantaged information is correctly submitted to the Texas Education Agency. The funds that we receive based on our economically disadvantaged status provide the district with resources to assist our students with overcoming many of the challenges that are associated with living in financially stressed environments. Additionally, a correct percentage places us in the appropriate accountability category when compared to other districts. Parents, we need your help to ensure that we receive everything that our students need and deserve, and we thank you for your assistance with this extremely important matter.

With that in mind, as a district, we are extremely sensitive to the needs of all of our students. However, providing technology devices needed for virtual learning is the responsibility of the parents that choose to start the year virtually. The district is here to support those who have extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Nevertheless, devices and connectivity should be considered when deciding which learning format you will choose for your child. Technology was provided in the spring because of the mandatory shutdown. Participation in virtual learning, however, is a choice and not a mandate. Please consider your ability to provide the necessary tools, time, and support when making your selection for virtual or in-person learning. We know you will make the right choice to fully support your child.
