Our WOSHS STEM students got a glimpse into their future careers at the Motiva Job Shadow, an event filled with hands-on learning, networking, and some friendly competition! Utilizing the engineering skills they learn in the classroom, our Mustangs worked with local professionals to solve real-world problems and toured the Science and Engineering labs at Lamar University. To end the day, our future engineers really put their knowledge to the test with a sweet little exercise called the Design Challenge, building towers from marshmallows and toothpicks!

This past Saturday, the West Orange-Stark Mighty Mustang Marching Band and Lake Charles College Prep Blazin’ Band participated in their annual State-Line Showdown at the LCCP Grind-House Gym.
The two bands competed by showcasing their talent in 5 rounds of back-and-forth songs, the drumlines had a center court face-off, and finally, the two bands brought down the house by joining forces to perform together.

The Mustangs at West Orange-Stark High School put on quite the show at this year's Black History Month program. Students celebrated the culture, achievements, and central role Black Americans have had in shaping national and global history with informative speeches, singing, dance performances, poetry recitals, and more. It was West Orange-Stark High School’s night to shine at this evening’s regular Board Meeting! The meeting was opened with an invocation from Makensly Bell (today is also her birthday!), followed by the pledges presented by Student of the Month, Sha’Lynn Jones! Kamra Rellford and Latreace Roberts were recognized as the Employee and Teacher of the Month. February is Career and Technical Education Month, so the Board also highlighted our amazing CTE instructors who are opening doors to future career opportunities for our students!
