West Orange-Cove CISD would like to highlight the 2026 salutatorian of West Orange-Stark High School, Michelle Vela!
The daughter of Mexican immigrants, Vela credits her success to her family's love, sacrifice, and pursuit of a better life. Her faith in God gives her strength, purpose, and the motivation to always move forward in life.
"I believe that being a good student and working hard are more than just personal goals," she said.
"They are ways to honor my parents and everything they have done for me. Their journey to America was not easy, and I strive every day to make sure their sacrifices were not in vain."
This fall, Vela will be attending Lamar University, where I plan to major in Radiology. We wish Vela the best in her future!
