The West Orange-Stark Theatre department will perform its UIL One-Act Play next Saturday, March 7th, at Lamar University. It's just $5 for an all-day pass, with West Orange-Stark taking the stage at 2 p.m. So come out for a day of great performances and support our Mustang Theatre students!

*Performances are intended for mature audiences only, please no small children*

This morning, Mustangs raised the roof at the West Orange-Stark Elementary Black History Month program! Students read speeches, and the elementary choir brought the energy with several powerful songs. Special guests and West Orange-Stark alumni, local entrepreneur and mentor Michael Doc Booker, and 12NewsNow evening anchor Claydra Rhodes, inspired students to dream big and find success through hard work and dedication in school!

The Mustangs came out swinging in the first game of the Certa-Bearden WOS Classic, beating the Evadale Rebels 6-2. Filling the stands were the WOSE students who met their AR goals, cheering the team on to victory!

And if you're still hungry for more Mustang baseball action, they'll face the Beaumont United Timberwolves on the diamond tonight at 7 p.m.

The Mustangs at West Orange-Stark High School put on quite the show at this year's Black History Month program. Students celebrated the culture, achievements, and central role Black Americans have had in shaping national and global history with informative speeches, singing, dance performances, poetry recitals, and more. On Monday, staff at North Early Learning Center spent their professional development day training on PreK inclusion strategies and Region V training for ESL strategies.

Teachers also held sessions on transitions (songs, chants, and more), social-emotional learning (breathing techniques and calming music), literacy and math center ideas, and anchor charts for PreK.

PD days promote team building and ensure teachers have the resources to provide an exceptional education for our Little Mustangs.

It was West Orange-Stark High School’s night to shine at this evening’s regular Board Meeting! The meeting was opened with an invocation from Makensly Bell (today is also her birthday!), followed by the pledges presented by Student of the Month, Sha’Lynn Jones! Kamra Rellford and Latreace Roberts were recognized as the Employee and Teacher of the Month. February is Career and Technical Education Month, so the Board also highlighted our amazing CTE instructors who are opening doors to future career opportunities for our students!

The Lady Mustangs dominated the diamond during the second day of the Spring Classic Tournament, defeating Evadale and Beaumont United! The action continues today as WOS prepares for Woodville at 2 p.m. In the meantime, check out these highlights from yesterday's games and GO LADY MUSTANGS!

Success in the classroom starts on Capitol Hill! Board Trustee Linda Platt-Bryant travelled to Washington, D.C. to attend the Texas Federal Advocacy Conference. Bryant and other School Board Trustees from all over the Lone Star State met with Senators and State Reps to build support for Texas Public Education!

Families had a blast last night at NELC's All About Love: Family Game Night! Parents enjoyed a competitive game of Family Feud (with parent-themed questions), while the children played games in the gym. It was an event full of bonding, quality connection, and community!
