Bond Package 2011

On May 14, 2011, the residents of West Orange – Cove CISD overwhelmingly passed a $6,075,000 Bond Election. The bonds are Qualified School Construction Bonds, commonly referred to as “QSCB” bonds. These low interest, federal bonds, were made available to school districts as part of the stimulus package or the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Allocating bodies determined the total bond dollar amount that each school district was eligible to receive. West Orange – Cove CISD bond projects were identified based upon available bond money.
“I would like to thank our parents and community for their support of the QSCB bond. It is our goal to be transparent, as well as be a good steward of the trust given to our School District. The goal of this web page is to keep all of the stakeholders updated with the status of each and every project approved as part of this bond,” James Colbert, WOCCISD Superintendent said.
