Charles, La. I married the former Nomica Golden (from Lake Charles) on
Oct. 8, 2005 and now I am the father of one son, Matthew who is 15 years
old and daughter Isabella who was born on March 8, 2007. Personally, we
have, for the most part, recovered well from the storm even though the
Lake Area and SWLA as a whole is still in the Recovery and Rebuilding
mode and will be for some time. We received substantial damage to our
home during Hurricane Rita and was out of our home living in a travel
trailer in our yard for 13 months. We still consider ourselves blessed
because we survived and were able to remodel and rebuild our home with
our own special tastes. We now have a new home. Thank God for insurance!
(That was for you, Mike Lowe). Now we are using our travel trailer to go
camping, so if any of you know any good camping sites, let me know. We
love to travel. My wife was Mrs. Louisiana 2006-2007 and went on to
place third runner up to Mrs. America in September 2006 in Tucson,
Arizona. Never has anyone from Louisiana even placed in the top 10 in
the history of the Mrs. America Pageant. Furthermore, she was the first
Mrs. Louisiana of color. As for me, this year I will be inducted as the
President of the Rotary Club of Lake Charles, so we stay pretty busy.
For the past seven years I have been working in the non-profit world,
now community health, which I have been doing for almost four years. I
am still passionate and dedicated to the Parkinson Disease Awareness
movement and I still function as the President of the Eljay Foundation
for Parkinson Awareness. I would like to offer my condolences to the
family and friends of our classmates that have gone on. My God Bless the

Work is work, technology is ever changing so I am never bored, just
always exhausted. I am a community activist too. I mentor inner city
youth, feed the homeless, try to get runaways back home, and am now
rebuilding the city that has been my home since '94. My daughter is a
